my story

When I’m not working, I volunteer with local animal rescue groups - networking and evaluating dogs and doing home checks for potential adopters. I am the proud owner of two German Shepherds, whom I also enjoy working with and training. They are full of personality, and (naturally) have their own Instagram account, @Kibble _ and_dribble. I've been fortunate enough to make a career out of doing something I love. After earning my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California, I immediately went to work writing for several entertainment magazines and trade publications covering the world of Hollywood, celebrities and pop culture. From there, I segued to the then-burgeoning world of website development and content creation. Over the years, I have produced videos, movies, blogs, pitches, pilot presentations and other multi-purpose media for celebrity clientele, small businesses, tourism offices and PR agencies.

In 2011, I relocated to South Florida and started a new career chapter in travel technology, working in marketing communications before moving to training and learning as a senior editor and content strategist. Recently, I have taken on the exciting opportunity to expand my skillset with UX writing, working on global projects and enterprise software. It’s extremely rewarding to witness the impact thoughtful word choices have on user experience - and, the bottom line.

Over the past five years, I have earned certifications in Project Mangement and Six Sigma Fundamentals from Nova Southeastern University, completed coursework in Situational Leadership, and the eight week, XAP - Xcerlated Action Program for Women Leaders. I am currently enrolled in a User Experience course at the Interaction Design Foundation.

On occasion, I also still participate in panel discussions and small workshops focused on the creative process of writing and storytelling. I am continously excited by compelling narratives and authentic promotion by organizations who understand the balance. Finding those that stand out from the crowd is my passion. Providing them exposure to the right audience brings me joy.

It’s none of their business that you have to learn to write. Let them think you were born that way.
