I left my hometown of NYC at a very young age to pursue my dream of being a writer. For more than a decade, I lived in Los Angeles, working alongside true industry leaders and professionals. I interned at a CBS News local affiliate and then moved on to CBS Television City, learning about each aspect of television production. I started my career in print journalism at the industry trade, Variety during my senior year at USC, starting as an administrative assistant in the newsroom and working my way up to writer and columnist. During the four years that followed, I worked as assistant to legendary columnist Army Archerd before becoming a writer covering red carpet events, movie premieres, pop-culture milestones, and industry news. Eventually, I was writing for the daily and weekly publications, a whirlwind time of red carpets, high-profile subjects and ground-breaking business deals. I was privileged enough to cover the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards and Golden Globes as well as landing my first book deal.
After Variety, I joined UsWeekly as a staff writer, continuing coverage of local events and award shows and, wrote a column called Casting Calls.
Soon after, I segued to writing and creating website content - working at a boutique agency that built and managed celebrity websites, exclusively. There, I worked on several campaigns and projects for MSN, Hanes, and the US Fund for UNICEF. Our clients included Alyssa Milano, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tori Spelling, Alison Sweeny, Joey McIntyre, Wilmer Valderrama, Gloria Reuben, Diane Lane, Robert Patrick and Bill Maher, to name just a few. Together, we produced exclusive content, including behind-the-scenes footage of magazine and TV shoots, promotional videos, and even an original online series. My team and I went on to produce The Long Shot for The Hallmark Channel and work on several book and branding projects for celebrities and lifestyle experts.
Pivoting away from Hollywood, I began to share my experience with content creation and social media with others new to the game - consulting with small businesses, tourism associations and start-ups about how to use these new outlets effectively. I got to be a part of some cool launches and cover some out-the-box events (a Fam trip to Mexico that was solely promoted by live tweeting, and Virgin America’s first flight to offer wi-fi, called, The Day in the Cloud Challenge), help launch a liquor and event company, and even work on a celeb cooking show pilot.
Eventually relocating to South Florida, I began my corporate journey creating and working alongside marketing communications, training, sales, and development teams to develop branded content for digital and print publications.
